CYPROFRESH CITRUS SEDIGEP (P.O.) LTD
is the largest producers organisation in Cyprus. It was established in 2005
and commenced operations in that year. Cyprofresh was the first Cypriot organisation
to meet the criteria laid down by the National Competent Authority on producers
organisations. The company now has more than 1.300 members and a total area
of 1.550 hectares under cultivation.
Cyprofresh was established under the conditions which govern co-operative
organisations. As such it aims to provide its members with the support they
need to enable them achieve their objectives and serve better the end-customer.
As dictated by the spirit of co-operative associations the company’s
profits are distributed to members in proportion to each member’s
participation in the activities of the company.
As a producer organisation Cyprofresh offers its members many and varied

Aiming to enhance its competitive position Cyprofresh entered into a strategic
alliance with the respected SEDIGEP LTD; Cyprus’s largest packers
and exporters of fresh fruit and with a significant sales network in key
international markets. This strategic alliance enhanced significantly the
position of Cyprofresh and its members and allowed the company to use dedicated
assets and services without the need to invest. Cyprofresh benefited immensely
from this strategic alliance which allows it to use:
Sophisticated and efficient BRC-certified packaging facilities
that meet the standards of demanding retailers. The Sedigep
packing plant provides Cyprofresh with facilities for storage,
sorting and grading, packaging and transportation
Sophisticated technical support and quality assurance management
which helps producers meet customer expectations
Financial support through loans and advancements to members. Equally,
the Sedigep partnership eliminated the need for Cyprofresh to
make heavy investments in capital equipment
Experienced and effective sales network that is served by professional

Actively involved in Co-financed promotional programmes.
Approved for a long term Operational programme which supports the
development of environmentally-friendly techniques and the application
of agricultural methods that support the environment.
Initiated and setup its own research and development programme
which covers plant breeding, materials, cultivation techniques,
quality, and agronomy.
Started implementation of a new advanced traceability system that
is based on the EAN-UCC labelling standard.
Recognized the importance towards fruit certification and this
helped the majority of its members to achieve or get into the
process of acquiring the EurepGap certification.
